re St Bonaventure Church Huntington Beach CA

Pretty good environment most of the time although now that we're under Covid protocol I wish that some of the few people who still insist on having the host be deposited directly into their mouth could temporarily refrain & simply hold out your hand like 99% of us. It's NOT very fair to the person serving the Eucharist or others... the server has to stop and clean their hands again... and just having you  open your mouth in front of that person for  15 seconds potentially exposes them to anything you might have.

You might want to think about that next time you insist on having the host deposited directly into your mouth . it's actually a bit selfish.

Also ladies. If you're so concerned that there might be a thief in the audience looking to steal your purse you might want to just LEAVE YOUR PURSE in the CAR rather than fearfully clutch it everywhere you go. The "frightened innocent little me in the midst of wolves at church" act gets a bit old after a while. WHAT WOULD MARY DO (WWMD).

Re ladies & their purses at daily mass

I get a little disturbed by some ladies who bring their purses to the Mass and then every now and then you get one of them who suddenly acts like they're worried it might get stolen if they leave it under the chair when they go up for the Eucharist .

if they're coming to Mass with they're purse and they're worried about it being stolen, just leave they're purse in the car . & if they're worried about their car getting broken into during the mass when the parking lot is right there in view at the church , then they have other problems to worry about.  maybe they need to see a doctor about paranoia but anyways ...its very disturbing when you're at mass and suddenly a lady looks at you and thinks to herself " I better bring my purse with me. You never know about that person next to me".

I'm at mass for  spiritual reasons NOT to steal a purse or anything else.  and I'm NOT poor. I'm probably more wealthy than you.  I come from a very wealthy family . if I told you the product my grandfather invented you would be very familiar with it.

Ladies, it's NOT fair to use your purse as a  weapon to marginalize people . you don't need it at daily mass .. (No offering is taken)... unless you need a feminine product...but if that's the case then maybe you should take the day off from Mass... really there's No reason to bring your purse at all. You can leave it in the car or leave it at home. MAYBE the priest should preach a homily about this topic as well.

And if I feel a little self-conscious because a lady has done this to me , I can only imagine how a real poor person might feel if they came to Mass when our goal is to be evangelists even as Catholics and make people feel welcome, NOT to act snooty. This is NOT a country club.  We will be judged by God for our hospitality , or lack of , especially when we're on the church premises .
